This past weekend, Ryan Gosling confirmed -- following earlier reports dating back to April -- that he will appear alongside Harrison Ford in the upcoming sequel to "Blade Runner." Reports earlier this year said that Gosling was in negotiations for the film, but he hadn't personally confirmed his involvement. In a press junket interview with Collider for his film "The Big Short," Gosling assured fans that it's true, and he'll indeed star in the second "Blade Runner."

The untitled "Blade Runner" sequel will directed by Denis Villeneuve ("Sicario"); Roger Deakins ("Skyfall") has signed on as cinematographer. Gosling did reveal that he plans to shoot the sci-fi film as his next project, but declined to divulge any other details about it.

Gosling will also appear in Shane Black's noir film "The Nice Guys," with Russell Crowe, Kim Basinger, Matt Bomer and Keith David. "The Nice Guys" opens in theaters on May 20, 2016.
