Comic book artist Babs Tarr is gearing up to put her own artistic spin on Rooster Teeth's RWBY for an upcoming line of limited edition merchandise.
At its Comic-Con@Home panel, Rooster Teeth announced the collaboration, with Tarr and Coop Comics' line of RWBY merch set to launch "later this year." At this time, a more specific release window has not been announced, nor have any of the actual products that will be available for purchase been revealed. However, Rooster Teeth did share a brand-new piece of artwork by Tarr, featuring RWBY's four main protagonists of Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee, Blake Belladonna and Yang Xiao Long.
Tarr is perhaps best known for her work as an artist DC Comics' Batgirl, as well as for her various variant covers. She also worked as both an artist and a writer on Image Comics' Motor Crush. Notably, Rooster Teeth has a working relationship with DC, which published digital-first comic book series based on the animated shows RWBY and gen:LOCK.
Rooster Teeth Animation's RWBY premiered its first volume back in 2013, with the seventh and most recent volume beginning in late 2019 and concluding earlier this year. RWBY Volume 8 in currently in production and expected to premiere later this year, with writer/executive producer Kerry Shawcross recently confirming that the writing process for Volume 9 had begun as well.
