Worlds Collide in Justice League x RWBY

Super Heroes & Huntsmen is based on the crossover comic book limited series RWBY/Justice League by Marguerite Bennett, Aneke and Mirka Andolfo, which launched as a DC digital-first title in 2021. That said, the film's synopsis implies that it will not be a one-to-one adaptation of the comic, but will instead put a fresh spin on the crossover concept. For instance, the comic did not include the plot point of the Justice League being transported to the RWBY universe. (Rather, the comic takes place in an alternate version of RWBY canon where versions of the DC characters already exist in the universe.) The movie also adds one-time Suicide Squad member Vixen as a featured player, seemingly in the place of Aquaman. It remains to be seen if RWBY's take on DC's Starro the Conqueror will remain the main villain of the piece, or if our heroes will have a new big bad to take down.

Created by the late, great Monty Oum, RWBY originally launched from Rooster Teeth in 2013. The main series currently has eight seasons under its belt, with a ninth expected to debut in early 2023. Meanwhile, Justice League x RWBY: Super Heroes & Huntsmen, Part One is slated to release on Digital, 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray in spring 2023.
