Voice actor Jason Liebrecht (Fullmetal Alchemist the Movie: Conqueror of Shamballa, My Hero Academia) will voice the character of Qrow Branwen in the upcoming seventh volume of Rooster Teeth Animation's anime-inspired series RWBY. Liebrecht will replace Vic Mignogna, whom Rooster Teeth previously severed ties with.

RWBY co-writer/co-director Kerry Shawcross confirmed the recasting in a journal entry on the Rooster Teeth website. "One more thing that's obviously had a lot of conversation around it is who will be voicing Qrow," Shawcross said.

He continued, "2019 has been a wild year for me as I grow and develop my role and responsibilities as a creator, and for my own mental sanity, I'm choosing to move forward on a lot of these topics in a positive light. To that end, I can't think of anything more positive than to have Jason Liebrecht voice Qrow Branwen. We're incredibly excited to be working with him and he's already doing an amazing job."

Mignogna began voicing Qrow in RWBY Volume 3 in 2015, reprising his role through Volume 6 -- which ran from late 2018 to early 2019. The prominent voice actor was removed from the series this past February following multiple accusations of sexual misconduct.

RWBY Volume 7 currently does not have an announced release date. However, Shawcross promises the series' next outing will be discussed at RTX Austin 2019 this weekend. In the meantime, the director assures that production on the next volume of RWBY "is going really well."

DC Comics will also have a significant presence at Rooster Teeth's annual convention over the weekend. This is of note, as the Austin-based production company revealed at 2018 New York Comic Con that they would be partnering with DC to produce comics based on RWBY and gen:LOCK this year.
