A new trailer for the upcoming anime RWBY: Ice Queendom has introduced a mysterious new character named Shion Zaiden to the RWBY universe.

The world of RWBY is teeming with vicious monsters called "Grimms," causing humanity's fate to rest on the shoulders of Hunters and Huntresses that devote their lives to battling and defeating these creatures. Posted on production company Emotion Label's official YouTube channel, RWBY: Ice Queendom's newest trailer opens with a shot of Shion waving a strange magical staff while claiming to be a "Nightmare Hunter." Later on in the trailer she talks about a particular type of Grimm that possesses humans, traps them within their own dreams, and proceeds to drain them of all their Aura, which is the equivalent of one's soul in RWBY. Being a "Nightmare Hunter," it is fair to assume that one of Shion's goals is to seek out and destroy these "nightmare" Grimms.
