Rooster Teeth has announced the official title for its new RWBY video game developed by WayForward: RWBY: Arrowfell. As revealed during the RWBY panel at this year's RTX at Home virtual convention, RWBY: Arrowfell is slated for release sometime in 2022. RWBY writer Miles Luna -- who voices the character of Jaune Arc on the web-series -- also confirmed that the game is set during the timeskip period of RWBY Volume 7. Luna describes Arrowfell as a Metroidvania-style game that supports both local and online multiplayer. A brief teaser trailer was revealed during the panel stream.RELATED: RWBY/Justice League Introduces the World of Remnant's Own Jesse Quick

It was originally announced during last year's RTX at Home event that WayForward was developing a new video game based on Rooster Teeth's hit anime-inspired series RWBY, which would release on "multiple platforms" and come complete with an original story. This new title marks the RWBY franchise's latest foray into the world of video games.

Rooster Teeth previously released its own in-house-developed title RWBY: Grimm Eclipse for PC in 2016, with console ports arriving in 2017. Grimm Eclipse would go on to receive a Definitive Edition from Aspyr on the Nintendo Switch earlier this year -- and, as announced at RTX, is getting a physical release from Limited Run. There have been a number of RWBY mobile games as well -- namely RWBY: Amity Arena, RWBY: Crystal Match and an officially-licensed game featuring its own original story simply titled RWBY. However, all of those games have since been shut down. That said, RWBY characters have also made guest appearances in games like Smite and BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle.
