Facepunch Studios and Techland have released a trailer for the upcoming Rust and Dying Light crossover, teasing all new features that gamers can expect to see.

Techland, the studio behind Dying Light and its sequel, and Facepunch Studios, the developer behind the multiplayer survival game Rust, have teamed up for a special crossover event that will allow players to wield Rust-themed weapons and skins, participate in new challenges and face-off against a new human enemy type in Dying Light for a limited time only.

The event began on April 19 and will run until April 26 on PC only. Players will gain access to the Rust Bundle for free, which includes Rust-themed Player and Buggy Skins, a Rust Assault Rifle, Custom SMG and Salvaged Cleaver. Players will also be able to complete Research Bounties locally by collecting resources. They can then earn Gold Blueprint upgrades to the Rust weapon set.

Rust is a multiplayer-only survival game that was released in 2018 for PC and macOS. A PlayStation 4 and Xbox One version of the game has been announced with release expected in May. The game received mixed reviews upon release, with critics praising the difficulty of the game but criticizing its graphics.

The survival-horror game Dying Light was released in 2015. Players step into the boots of Kyle Crane, an undercover GRE agent tasked with infiltrating a quarantine zone. Players explore a Middle-Eastern setting called Harran, and try their best to avoid or destroy the zombies that have overtaken the region.

Wrocław, Poland — April 19, 2021 — Techland today announces it is teaming up with Facepunch Studios to bring the massively popular multiplayer survival game Rust to Dying Light for a limited time in-game crossover event. What's more, players will receive a new, free Rust Bundle with skins and weapons inspired by the game.

On PC from now through 10 AM PDT on April 26, the Rust crossover event invites players to channel their inner survivalist. Get to grips with new Rust-themed weapons and skins, go toe-to-toe with a new human enemy type, and earn exclusive rewards by braving in-game challenges.

As the event begins, all players will gain access to the free Rust Bundle, including Rust-themed Player and Buggy Skins alongside a Rust Assault Rifle, Custom SMG and Salvaged Cleaver. Complete Research Bounties locally by collecting resources and earn Gold Blueprint upgrades to the Rust weapon set. Furthermore, the global Dying Light community can collaboratively gain access to Gold Fire, Gold Freezing and Gold Poison C4 Dockets by hunting down Air Drops, raiding two new Rais’ Outposts and eliminating bandits.

To facilitate local and global objectives, players can deploy their new arsenal against an increased enemy presence, including both bandits and zombies, in Slums and Old Town. Moreover, in these locations players Rust Outpost Scientists wielding assault rifles and SMGs alongside a new Bucket Helmet zombie type.
