This Russo Brothers Infinity War Birthday Troll Takes The Cake - Literally

The Russo Brothers may be directors by day, but they have elevated internet trolling to a professional level in their downtime. Now it appears that, on special occasions, the pair are totally willing to mess with each other in creative ways, and they're not adverse to bringing Avengers: Infinity War into it.

A tweet posted today to mark elder brother Anthony's 49th birthday showed his cake, which might look very familiar to fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The artwork on the cake replicates the poster for Infinity War. However, every character's head has been replaced by the birthday boy's face. Leaving no details by the wayside, Russo's skin tone has been altered appropriately when appearing atop the bodies of Thanos, Hulk and Gamora.

Some of the Russo Brothers' more recent trolling has seen fans simultaneously amused and frustrated. At The Game Awards in December, viewers were excited when an introduction from the brothers onstage led to a lights-out moment, with everyone expecting the first trailer for Avengers: Endgame to make a surprise appearance. What they got instead was a brief preview of the next Super Smash Bros. game. Disappointment ensued.

As seasonal Christmas trolls, the Russos changed their Twitter profile picture to one featuring Deadpool's Ryan Reynolds dressed in an ugly gift-wrapped sweater and labeled "fans." Beside him are "Anthony Russo" (portrayed by Logan's Hugh Jackman) and "Joe Russo" (Spider-Man: Far From Home's Jake Gyllenhaal). The two are laughing at the actor, implying the directorial duo's enjoyment of leaving fans in the dark about what lies ahead in the MCU.
