Allegra Acosta, who plays Molly Hernandez on Hulu's Runaways, wants to see her character become a mutant just as much as you do. At New York Comic Con, she laid out exactly how Molly could become a mutant on the show and how that change would allow her to recreate one of her favorite scenes from the comics.

Asked about the origin of Molly's powers, Acosta said, "Throughout the season, we're throwing small little Easter eggs for as much as the comic fans to kind of not use the 'M' word but kind of show it in a different way. But I think it's really interesting and fun the way we kind of portray it in a way, where it could kind of explore -- if we go on to Season 3 and hopefully if Disney merges with Fox -- maybe we can use the 'M' word in Season 3! Because there's some cool, like, Easter eggs for everyone to see how it develops and progresses throughout the season."

Acosta is, of course, referring to the merger between Disney and Fox, which is set to close as early as January. Prior to the creation of Marvel Studios, Fox held the rights to both the X-Men and Fantastic Four franchises. Now that Disney has bought the rights to Fox's entertainment properties, the X-Men and Fantastic Four can appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige will indeed oversee Disney's X-Men films, it is unclear how soon that will take effect and how it will impact Marvel Television, which is a separate division headed by Jeph Loeb.

"So I was talking about this the other day. If Molly can recreate the Wolverine scene from the comic books, that would be the most iconic thing ever," Acosta added. "But Molly wants to be an Avenger, wants to be in the X-Men. That's what she wants to do initially in the Runaways. That's literally her underlying text for every line she does or every scene she does. She wants to be this kind of phenomenal group that helps the world, because I think that she comes from a good place and she's very loving, so she literally just wants to change the world, and so having the older kids trying to protect her and guide her from the horrible things that are happening with the Pride and everything, she wants to take it down herself or with them."

Marvel’s Runaways is a Hulu original series, with all 13 episodes of Season 2 set to be released on Dec. 21.
