A new clip from the Season 3 premiere of Runaways teases some new powers for Gert and Old Lace.
The clip, released by Hulu, puts the focus on Gert and Old Lace as Dale Yorke reveals the duo's abilities are far greater than they know.
Though the clip stops short of elaborating on what powers Old Lace possesses and how Gert can tap into them, it's a tantalizing tease. So far, we've been shown that they share some sort of psychic/empathic connection that makes Old Lace protect Gert and even allows Gert to feel Old Lace's pain. In the comics, however, this telepathic connection is much more pronounced, as the two can communicate mentally.
Still, even taking into account the source material, Dale seems to be hinting at powers beyond the pair's comic book counterparts. While telepathic communication would be great, that Old Lace was designed to fight Jonah seems to indicate the dinosaur can do some pretty remarkable things.
The trailer for Season 3 of Runways put magic more in focus, as the evil Morgan le Fay (Elizabeth Hurley) will enter the picture and Nico and her staff will play a key role in the plot. We don't know what shape Gert and Old Lace's new powers will take, but it seems as if all of the Runaways may be getting some upgrades when the show returns.

The series returns for its third season on Dec. 13, with all 10 episodes of the season released simultaneously.
