Following accusations of sexual harassment, Runaways star Kip Pardue has been fined by SAG-AFTRA.
According to Variety, the organization found Pardue guilty of sexually harassing actor Sarah Scott. He was also fined $6,000 for the incident. However, if he if takes an online workplace sexual harassment training module within 90 days, the fine will be cut in half.
Though the union declined to comment, Scott released a letter that says Pardue was found "guilty of serious misconduct in violation" of the SAG-AFTRA constitution, for which the organization "censures and admonishes you for this inappropriate and unprofessional conduct."
“I don't know if I’m supposed to feel good about the punishment or not," Scott said in a statement. "I would have liked to have seen a couple of years' suspension, but this is a step in the right direction."
Last October, Scott told the Los Angeles Times that Pardue became aroused as the two were filming a sex scene in May for Mogulettes, and placed her hand on his penis. He later called Scott into his dressing room, where she says he masturbated in front of her. When she asked what he was doing, Pardue allegedly responded, “This isn’t a #MeToo thing. I’m not your employer. It’s not like I can fire you.”
Pardue has been a member of the Runaways cast since its first season. The Hulu series was renewed for a third season in March, but it is unclear if Pardue will return.
