SuperHeroHype reports, "...though it remains unconfirmed, we've heard that the mutant X-23 will be making her feature debut [in 'Wolverine 3']."

The report follows a casting call sent out for "Wolverine 3," which asks for, "Caucasian, Hispanic, and Asian-looking females over the age of 21, a height of 4' - 4'11, and a size 0-4," (via ComicBook.com). Could this be describing X-23?

Created by writer Craig Kyle for the animated series "X-Men: Evolution," X-23 went on to make her comics debut in "NYX," and appear in several X-Men titles, including "New X-Men" and "X-Force," before taking on the guise of Wolverine after his apparent death. The character is Weapon X's 23rd stab at cloning Wolverine, after 22 unsuccessful attempts -- hence the name X-23.

Directed by James Mangold, "Wolverine 3" hits theaters on March 3, 2017.
