A casting call has reportedly leaked for George Miller's planned Mad Max prequel film Mad Max: Furiosa, with the studio rumored to be interested in a major Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) star for a key role: Chris Hemsworth.

Hemsworth is allegedly in consideration for a character named Dementus, described in the casting description as a man in his 30s-40s, who is "breathtakingly handsome" and possesses "an angel's face, scarred by a deep forehead wounded stitched together with shiny chrome staples." Hemsworth has not officially signed on to the role.

It is unclear if Dementus will be the character's final name in the film or just used for character description, or if the planned character will be an ally or antagonist to a younger Furiosa in an adventure set before the events of 2015's Mad Max: Fury Road.

Miller plans to begin production on Mad Max: Furiosa sometime next year. He recast the title role with The New Mutants star Ana Taylor-Joy this past March after reportedly considering having Charlize Theron reprise her fan-favorite part through the use of digital de-aging technology.
