As principal photography on Star Wars: Episode IX enters its final stages this month, a new rumor offers clues on what role returning classic character Lando Calrissian may play in the upcoming sequel.
A new report claims that Lando's overall part in Episode IX will not be a particularly big one but prove pivotal as he helps task the main characters with searching for the film's unrevealed plot device driving the story while providing sage advice in role similar to Maz Kanata in The Force Awakens.

The rumor also indicates that Lando will indeed be dressed similarly to Donald Glover's younger incarnation of the character in Solo: A Star Wars Story, complete with the yellow shirt and cape as seen in allegedly leaked concept art and character designs revealed earlier this week.
Billy Dee Williams was announced to return to portray Lando this past summer though no official details about his character have been revealed by LucasFilm.
