RUMOR: 'Ocean's Eleven' Enlists Elizabeth Banks, Cate Blanchett, Helena Bonham Carter & More

The "Ocean's Eleven" cast just grew by four. Showbiz411 reports that Elizabeth Banks, Cate Blanchett, Mindy Kaling and Helena Bonham Carter will join Sandra Bullock in this all-female adaptation of the 2001 heist comedy of the same name. The film will reportedly shoot in New York early next year.

According to an earlier report, the film has been brewing for over a year, with Gary Ross (“The Hunger Games”) already on board to direct from a script by Olivia Milch (“Queen & Country,” “Little Women”). The project was apparently initiated by original franchise director Steven Soderbergh, star George Clooney and the late producer Jerry Weintraub. Sandra Bullock is already on board to star.

The 2001 film, itself a remake of the 1960 film of the same name, starred an ensemble cast that includes Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Julia Roberts and Don Cheadle. A commercial and critical hit, “Ocean’s Eleven” grossed more than $450 million worldwide and inspired two sequels. The trilogy earned a combined $1.1 billion.
