According to a new rumor, the long-planned revival of The Muppets for Disney's upcoming streaming service may have some top talent behind it.

Josh Gad, the musical actor who previously appeared in Frozen and Disney's live-action Beauty and the Beast remake, is teaming up with Once Upon a Time creators Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz to create a new Muppets miniseries for Disney+. Tentatively titled Muppets Live Another Day, the rumored revival will take place right after the events of 1984's Muppets Take Manhattan and see Kermit get the ensemble back together after the mysterious disappearance of Rowlf.

A revival of The Muppets for Disney+ was announced nearly a full year ago with the studio looking to sign a writer for the project. Previously, Disney had attempted to revive the property as a slightly more adult-oriented series on ABC, aptly titled The Muppets, which was cancelled after a single season airing from 2015-2016.

There are currently no additional details on the planned miniseries, though it is expected to premiere on Disney+ sometime in 2020.
