If a new rumor is to be believed, one of Spider-Man's amazing friends could be making her way to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

According to Mikey Sutton on YouTube and Daniel Richtman (DanielRPK) on Patreon, Marvel Studios could have plans for the character of Firestar. "There is a plan to introduce Firestar into the MCU," Richtman wrote on his Patreon. No information has been provided regarding whether these supposed plans involve Firestar appearing on the big screen, or perhaps on a Disney+ series. Additionally, while Richtman often provides accurate information pertaining to behind-the-scenes happenings in the world of film, this -- like all rumors -- should be taken with a grain of salt.

Firestar, aka Angelica Jones, actually did not originate from a Marvel comic book. Rather, she debuted as one of the main characters of NBC's Saturday morning Marvel cartoon Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends, which premiered in September of 1981. Firestar starred alongside Spidey himself, as well as the X-Men's Iceman.

The character made her first comic book appearance in the December 1981 tie-in release Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends #1, before finally joining the Marvel Universe proper as a mutant in 1985's Uncanny X-Men #193. Firestar got her very own limited series in 1986, became a founding member of the New Warriors, starred in a few other comics all her own and has even reunited with Spider-Man and Iceman on a few special occasions.

Should Richtman's information prove correct, it remains to be seen if the MCU's Firestar will borrow from her association with Spider-Man, her association with the X-Men, her association with the New Warriors or do something different entirely.
