Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor played a major role in Batman v Superman and is one of the main reasons that Darkseid, his army of parademons and Steppenwolf -- their general -- will be coming to Earth, effectively setting in motion the plot of Justice League. There was a rumor that Lex would have some role to play in the upcoming Justice League film, but an even newer rumor indicates that any scenes Eisenberg might have filmed have been cut from the film.

During a Q&A session, Batman on Film's Bill "Jeet" Ramey was asked about the scope of Eisenberg's role in the Justice League. Ramey responded, "He doesn't have one. If he did prior to all the changes/reshoots, it was cut."

While at this time it's still a rumor, news of the movie's significant reshoots initially appeared from the same source, for the most part seem to have proven true.  The film has undergone some fairly extensive changes so far, and Avengers director Joss Whedon is thought to have scrapped the original ending. Actor Joe Morton (who plays Cyborg's father) has admitted that the reshoots were done to lighten the movie's tone, and Ben Affleck, who plays Batman, has described the film as "an interesting product of two directors."

Even Ramey's answer to the question was somewhat vague; if it was actually removed from the movie, Lex's role was likely small. Ramey's statement also allows for the possibility that no scenes existed in the first place. However, the movie is in post-production, with no final cut having been rendered, so there's no telling whether Eisenberg's scenes, should they exist, will make it back into the movie, or if they've been filmed at all. Nothing will be certain until the film releases in November.
