The untitled Genshin Impact anime may be a prequel series set before players arrive in Tevyat.

As reported by Comicbook.com, a translation by Reddit user Liuuzaki revealed the upcoming anime takes place before the events of Aether and Lumine's arrival in Tevyat. Allegedly, the series will dedicate a season to each nation in Tevyat and include the destruction of Khaenri'ah over 500 years ago. If true, viewers could see a pre-Genshin Impact Venti and Zhongli According to the Reddit comment, the untitled Genshin Impact anime began development 18 months ago. The first season will allegedly consist of 12 episodes, of which three are reportedly complete.

Announced on Sept. 16, 2022, HoYoverse collaborated with Japanese animation company Studio Ufotable for an anime adaptation of its free-to-play game Genshin Impact. Studio Ufotable previously worked on popular series like Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba and Fate/Zero. The studio's previous animation credits also include video game adaptations, like God Eater and Tales of Zestiria the X, both developed by Bandai Namco. To announce the upcoming series, HoYoverse released a two-minute concept trailer to give viewers a first look at the vast landscapes in the world of Tevyat.

In addition to the visuals of nature, Lumine and Aether surprised fans by standing side by side. The main objective of Genshin Impact is for players to reunite with their twin siblings after being separated before the events of the game. Thus, their reunion ultimately shocked viewers. In addition to a sibling reunion, players also must locate the Archons of the seven elements.

Genshin Is One of the Highest-grossing Mobile Games Ever

First released on Sept. 28, 2020, Genshin Impact quickly grew in popularity, becoming one of the highest-grossing mobile games of all time. To celebrate its second anniversary, Genshin Impact released a new desert area in the Sumeru region, along with two new characters on the Wish Banners: the five-star Electro polearm user Cyno and the four-star Hydro polearm user Candace. Other future playable characters include Nilou, Nahida and Scaramouche.

Due to Genshin Impact's growing character roster, the game has to recruit numerous voice actors for its represented languages. The RPG's English-language voice-acting cast consists of many dominant names in the anime industry. Several key players include Attack on Titan's Matthew Mercer as Diluc, Fairy Tail's Todd Haberkorn as Razor and Violet Evergarden's Erika Harlacher as Venti.

The untitled Genshin Impact anime releases on an unannounced date. The Version 3.2 update is expected to release on Nov. 2, 2022.
