New details may have emerged regarding Nathan Fillion's The Suicide Squad character.
A recent Weekly Planet podcast dropped the news that Fillion could be playing Arm-Fall-Off Boy, an obscure comic character who has appeared in a total of 12 DC Comics issues. While Fillion, director James Gunn and Warner Bros. have remained silent, Murphy's Law host Charles Murphy reported the news on Twitter.
Recent The Weekly Planet Podcast dropped a scoop about some roles in Suicide Squad. While I can't confirm the identity of Elba's character, I can confirm that Fillion is playing Arm-Fall-Off-Boy and the rest of the other non-lead roles discussed in the scoop. Floyd Belkin, or Arm-Fall-Off Boy, has the ability to detach his limbs and use them as blunt weapons. It is not clear in the comics how he got his powers, although Man-Eater Lad claims he got them while holding Element 152. In the Legion of Superheroes in the 31st Century continuity, Arm-Fall-Off Boy tries and fails to join the Legion of Superheroes.
Written and directed by James Gunn, The Suicide Squad is set to hit theaters Aug. 6, 2021. Several cast members from 2016's Suicide Squad will reprise their roles, including Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flagg and Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang. Also joining the cast are David Dastmalchian, John Cena, Joaquin Cosio, Nathan Fillion, Mayling Ng, Flula Borg, Sean Gunn, Juan Diego Botto, Storm Reid, Pete Davidson, Taika Waititi, Alice Braga, Steve Agee, Tinashe Kajese, Daniela Melchior, Peter Capaldi, Julio Ruiz, Jennifer Holland, Idris Elba and Michael Rooker.
