Discovery and DC Studios' upcoming The Flash. The Flash Film News shared the information on Twitter, writing, "Small tidbit regarding Dark Flash without delving deep into spoiler territory, his suit is made out of Kryptonian material." News of Miller facing off against an evil doppelgänger broke back in August 2021. Fans recently got their first look at the Dark Flash thanks to a leaked image of toys from Miller's upcoming standalone feature. In the photo, the Dark Flash wears a rocky-like costume with jagged protrusions jutting from his shoulders. In this way, the character resembles the design of Doomsday from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The version of Doomsday in Zack Snyder's 2016 film was born in the genesis chamber of a Kryptonian ship after Lex Luthor combined his blood with the corpse of General Zod.

General Zod's Multiversal Comeback

Michael Shannon's Zod will return to the DC Universe in The Flash, though it is unknown whether the Kryptonian General will play a similar role in creating the Dark Flash as WBD and DC Studios are keeping the details of his appearance under wraps. Joining Shannon is his Man of Steel co-star and onscreen sub-commander Faora-Ul, played by Antje Traue. Sasha Calle's Supergirl rounds out the cast of Kryptonians, which was set to include Henry Cavill's Superman in a cameo appearance before WBD and DC Studios cut his role from the film (in addition to Jason Momoa's Aquaman and Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman).

The Dark Flash is not the only alternate version of the Scarlet Speedster set to borrow his costume from another prominent DC character. A younger version of Barry will also appear wearing a re-purposed Batsuit, seemingly modeled after Michael Keaton's costume from 1992's Batman Returns. The first full look at Miller in the recycled Batsuit recently dropped on Reddit before being deleted shortly thereafter. Fans can still get an idea of what the suit looks like in the leaked toy image, which offers a glimpse at Barry in a red Batsuit with the cowl's ears cut off and a yellow lightning bolt painted over Batman's signature chest emblem.

The Flash hits theaters on June 16, but fans can look forward to the film's first full trailer on Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 12.
