Following Spider-Man's big debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in "Captain America: Civil War," his next appearance will be in 2017's "Spider-Man: Homecoming." While no real plot details are yet known about the film, a few new rumors might shed some light on what lies ahead for Peter Parker. JoBlo has some information from an unnamed source that may reveal the identity of the film's villain as well as one specific costume upgrade. While these are still just rumors, we'll throw up a spoiler warning just in case.

The first rumor involves the film's villains, and is in line with rumors that emerged in April when Michael Keaton was reportedly in talks to join the cast. Keaton was rumored to be in talks to play the Vulture, and while Keaton exited those talks, the rumor states that the Vulture is still in play. He'll be the film's main villain -- and he'll also have some help.

UPDATE (10:31 PM PT, 5/20/16): Michael Keaton Back On As "Spider-Man: Homecoming" Villain

Assisting the Vulture will be the Tinkerer, another character that debuted way back in "Amazing Spider-Man" #2. The Tinkerer will be charged with building Vulture's suit, which will be powered by leftover Chitauri tech from "Avengers'" Battle of New York.

The costume rumor centers around Tony Stark, who is said to fulfill a mentor role in the picture. Stark gives Spidey his official super suit in "Civil War," one that comes with a Spider-Signal. The rumor states that Stark will also provide Spider-Man's costume with the underarm web wings that were part of the character's original Steve Ditko design.

Directed by Jon Watts and written by John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein, "Spider-Man: Homecoming" stars Tom Holland, Marisa Tomei, Robert Downey Jr. and more. The film swings into theaters on July 7th, 2017.
