It appears that the lineup for the DCEU’s upcoming Birds of Prey film is getting more and more stacked.

Following rumors that Huntress was being lined up to join the roster for the upcoming DC ensemble film, new chatter has surfaced online hinting Black Canary will be enlisted as well.

No plot details or proposed actors have been mentioned so far, but while information remains scarce, it does seem that the movie will enter production with Barbara Gordon’s Batgirl kickstarting her solo film here and Margot Robbie reprising her role as Harley Quinn.

In the comics, after Barbara put down her Batgirl mantle and became Oracle (thanks to Joker's vicious paralyzing attack in The Killing Joke), she and Black Canary aka Dinah Lance originally formed the team in 1995, thanks to creators Jordan B. Gorfinkel and Chuck Dixon.

Their role was to clean up the streets while Batman and his team attended to more high-level criminals. Such a move would give fans arguably the most popular iteration of the team, which Gail Simone brought to life in 2003, and also leave fans wondering though if Green Arrow, the love of Canary's life, will enter the DCEU at some point.

Previous rumors had Catwoman being linked to the team, although they were debunked last week. The upcoming DCEU film is expected to feature The Penguin as the main villain, although he's also being eyed as a villain in Matt Reeves’ Batman solo film.

A Birds of Prey film, directed by Cathy Yan, has been fast-tracked by Warner Bros. and is expected to begin filming in January. The shuffling of the DCEU’s production schedule had the team film taking priority over a Suicide Squad sequel after studio execs were impressed by writer Christina Hodson’s script. With pre-production ramping up, official casting for Birds of Prey should begin soon.
