According to Latino Review, Warner Bros. is seeking to cast Black Canary for their two-part "Justice League" film. The report claims "Mad Max: Fury Road's" Abbey Lee and "Supernatural's" Alona Tal are currently being eyed for the role.

In the comics, Black Canary is a legacy mantle taken up by Dinah Drake and her daughter Dinah Laurel Lance. While both characters are highly trained in mixed martial arts, the latter has a sonic Canary cry she uses to disable her opponents. It is unclear which character would feature in the "Justice League" films.

"Justice League" will be split into two films, both directed by Zack Snyder; the report isn't sure which one will feature Black Canary's debut. The two films are scheduled for release in 2017 and 2019. The report claims Canary's debut in one or both of them could potentially lead into a "Birds of Prey" film.

Directed by Zack Snyder and starring Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill and Gal Gadot, "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" -- the next DC Cinematic Universe installment -- is scheduled to open on March 25, 2016.
