A new rumor suggests Warner Bros. is about to start casting Ben Affleck's replacement for Matt Reeves' The Batman. The rumor comes from Daniel Richtman on Twitter, who has typically been a good source of information about such things in the past. He suggests that the casting could happen as soon as this week. However, it's important to note that Richtman's tweet doesn't necessarily say the casting will be announced, so it's entirely possible the studio will find its Batman and hold on to that information for awhile.RELATED: Armie Hammer Still Hasn't Been Cast as Batman - But He'd Totally Take the Role

Since Affleck's departure earlier this year, there have been a lot of rumors about who will play the Caped Crusader in The Batman. The most prevalent rumors have swirled around Armie Hammer, who was at one point set to play the character in George Miller's Justice League: Mortal.  One rumor also suggested Twilight alum Robert Pattinson was being eyed for the role. However, many other actors are in contention, and it's unclear at this time just what direction Warner Bros will go.

Reeves' The Batman is also something of a mystery. There have been persistent reports it will be set in a different era, and it will seemingly focus on a younger Dark Knight. Several different villains have been suggested, including the Penguin.
