Kadokawa has released a final trailer to get fans excited for its new anime series Rumble Garanndoll, which is debuting as part of Funimation's fall 2021 lineup.
The trailer showcases the anime's high energy, wacky atmosphere and chibi-style mechs. Rumble Garanndoll is an over-the-top homage and parody of the mecha genre, which fits in with the bizarre, comedic tones of many of studio Lerche's other projects, including Assassination Classroom and Danganronpa: The Animation.
The original science fiction series sees an army from a parallel world fighting against the Japan of the real world in giant robot combat. Lerche and Egg Firm (Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online, The Disastrous Life of Saiki K.) are co-producing Rumble Garanndoll with Larx Entertainment (Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo, Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F') assisting with the 3DCG animation for the series. Masaomi Andō (Seven Senses of the Reunion, Vampire Knight Guilty) serves as the show's director with Makoto Uezu (Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, The Heroic Legend of Arslan: Dust Storm Dance) overseeing the series composition, Keiko Kurosawa (Lupin III: The Woman Called Fujiko Mine, Persona 4: The Animation) designing the characters and Yūsuke Shirato (Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card, Ascendance of a Bookworm) composing the music.
Mia Regina is performing the opening theme song, "Fever Dream," and Aina Suzuki performs the ending theme, "Reverse-Rebirth," and voices Yuki Aoba.
Rumble Garanndoll's cast includes several popular and experienced voice actors like Ai Fairouz (Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean, Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon) as Rin Akagi, Rina Hidaka (That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, The Rising of the Shield Hero) as Hayate Makami, Tomokazu Sugita (The Seven Deadly Sins: Revival of The Commandments, Fate/Grand Order - Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia) as Balzac Yamada, Shiori Izawa (Log Horizon: Destruction of the Round Table, Sword Art Online the Movie: Ordinal Scale) as Misa Kuroki and Shino Shimoji (Selection Project, Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Crystal) as Yakumo Kamizuru. The series marks the voice acting debut for Takemitsu Fukuchi as Anju Munakata.
Rumble Garanndoll premiered on Oct. 11 in Japan on AT-X, Tokyo MX, Yomiuri TV and BS11 with Funimation simulcasting the series outside Asia. The first episode is already available for subscribers of the streaming service with new episodes being released on Mondays. Rumble Garanndoll is debuting as part of Funimation's current anime season, alongside other new series like AMAIN Warrior at the Borderline, Irina: The Vampire Cosmonaut, Muteking the Dancing Hero, PuraOre! Pride of Orange, Ranking of Kings and Banished from the Hero's Party, I Decided to Live a Quiet Life in the Countryside.
