Developed by Jacob D. Butler and designed by Adolph Hoak, the 6,000-square-foot property was previously the home of U.S. attorney Charles H. Tuttle and has been visited by the New York icons like Fiorello LaGuardia and James Russel Parson. While the property was vacant when Anderson first came across it in 2000, it had been recently purchased for $460,000 by Willie Woods, who allowed the director to rent the property for six months to film.

The six-bedroom Flemish Revival mansion features four and a half bathrooms, a formal living room, a formal dining room, both a chef's and butler's kitchen, a family room and a garden. The first three floors of the home are also served by an elevator.

Following the release of The Royal Tenenbaums in 2001, Anderson praised the "storybook quality" of the home and explained that it was vital he found a New York home that "wasn't stereotypical."

The event will stream online and feature Anderson, along with cast members including Alec Baldwin, Gwyneth Paltrow, Luke Wilson, Owen Wilson, Anjelica Huston and Danny Glover.

The 2021 Tribeca Film Festival will also feature the premieres of films including Bernadette Wegenstein's The Conductor, Gaysorn Thavat's The Justice of Bunny King and the Dan Chen-helmed documentary Accepted.

The official synopsis for The Royal Tenenbaums reads,

Royal Tenenbaum and his wife Etheline had three children and then they separated. All three children are extraordinary -- all geniuses. Virtually all memory of the brilliance of the young Tenenbaums was subsequently erased by two decades of betrayal, failure, and disaster. Most of this was generally considered to be their father’s fault. 'The Royal Tenenbaums' is the story of the family’s sudden, unexpected reunion one recent winter.

Directed by Wes Anderson, The Royal Tenenbaums stars Luke Wilson, Owen Wilson, Gwyneth Paltrow, Gene Hackman, Anjelica Huston, Ben Stiller, Bill Murray, Danny Glover and Alec Baldwin. The film is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video and other streaming platforms.
