Rourke Returning to Sin City; Madsen Still Up For the Trip

While Robert Rodriguez may not technically hit the announced summer 2012 start date for Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, the sequel is still moving along with a planned October 2013 release. According to Deadline, Mickey Rourke is really close to signing a deal to reprise his role as Marv from the 2005 film. Sure, he rode the lightning in the first film, but it's important to remember that the story didn't unfold in chronological order. A Dame to Kill For takes places before some of the other stories in the Sin City cannon, and will actually include two new stories.

While Rourke nearly has his deal figured out, his Sin City co-star Michael Madsen isn't even sure he's in the sequel. The actor, who played Hartigan's nefarious partner Bob, told MTV's Splash Page he can't get in touch with Rodriguez and hasn't been able to determine what's going on with the project. Still, he's in interested in returning.

“And Bob survives, so you’d figure that he’s gonna make it, right?” Madsen said. “You’d figure that I’d show up in part two. So if you could get an answer for me, I’d really appreciate it, cause I can’t find out. Of course, I’d like to be a part of it.”

Sin City: A Dame to Kill For is being co-directed by Rodriguez and comic creator Frank Miller, based on a script by Miller and The Departed writer William Monohan.
