Rosario Dawson recently revealed that her favorite moment as Ahsoka Tano was filming her scene with Mark Hamill in The Book of Boba Fett.Dawson recalled the experience of working alongside Hamill, who portrays original Star Wars trilogy protagonist Luke Skywalker, in an interview with LaughingPlace.com. "I think the footage has come out of my reaction to that [scene], which is very real... they had written that I was going to be talking to Master Plo Koon, which -- I know he's dead, he's supposed to be dead," she said. "But I was like 'It's Star Wars, anything can happen, so maybe something's happened in previous episodes [of the show] that I haven't been shared with, so I'm just going to go in there.' And so, literally, there is a take somewhere in existence in which I call Luke Skwalker 'Master Plo Koon,' because I memorized my lines. But it was just awesome to be working with Mark and every time he giggled it sounded like [Hamill's recurring voice acting role] the Joker."
Ahsoka's co-creator and The Book of Boba Fett executive producer Dave Filoni previously confirmed that he's already worked out the story of the former Jedi padawan's first meeting with Luke, which remains untold. He explained that he actually figured out how the two fan-favorite characters met several years ago because it was important to know before he started writing their scenes together in The Book of Boba Fett. Filoni added that while he's yet to find a way to incorporate this plot point into any Star Wars project so far, it's nevertheless a "great" story.
Which Star Wars Characters Will Return in Ahsoka?
It's unclear whether Filoni will weave the Luke/Ahsoka meeting into the narrative of the upcoming Ahsoka spinoff series, although Hamill is not currently attached to the production. It's also yet to be confirmed whether any of Dawson's other co-stars from The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett will appear in the Disney+ show, either. Katee Sackhoff recently dodged a fan's question regarding whether she will reprise the role of Bo-Katan Kryze in Ahsoka, expressing her affection for Dawson instead.
In the franchise's canon, Bo-Katan and Ahsoka previously encountered each other in the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels. While rumors of the pair teaming up in live-action remain pure speculation for now, Ahsoka will definitely feature another of its titular protagonist's Rebels allies, Sabine Wren. Actor Natasha Liu Bordizzo is officially onboard to portray Wren, landing the gig despite not being aware of what role she was auditioning for.
The Mandalorian Seasons 1 and 2 The Book of Boba Fett are currently streaming on Disney+. Ahsoka is set to premiere on the platform sometime in 2023.
