Rosamund Pike has been cast in Wrath of the Titans, replacing Alexa Davalos as Andromeda in the sequel to 2010's Clash of the Titans, Deadline reports.
Best known for her role in the 2002 James Bond movie Die Another Day, Pike was mentioned just last week as one of three contenders to play the female lead in director Zack Snyder's reboot of the Superman franchise. With Pike seemingly now out of the running and National Treasure's Diane Kruger insisting she's not up for the part -- it's reportedly the Phantom Zone criminal Ursa -- that leaves only Alice Eve on Warner Bros.' shortlist.
Production of Wrath of the Titans is expected to begin as early as next month, with Sam Worthington, Liam Neeson and Gemma Arterton reprising their roles. Battle: Los Angeles director Jonathan Liebesman will replace Louis Leterrier. Davalos, who played Andromeda in Clash of the Titans, was unavailable for the Warner Bros. sequel.
Wrath of the Titans opens on March 23, 2012.
