gen:LOCK is set in a world 50 years in the future where a group of young pilots band together to jump into mech suits and save the world. The show will also be one of two Rooster Teeth products to make the jump to comics courtesy of DC Comics next year, the second being RWBY. At the panel, Haddock also briefly discussed how the company managed to get Michael B. Jordan for the lead role of Julian Chase, which first involved invoking his name during the character design process and realizing that he would be perfect for the role. Once Jordan was cast, they were able to use him as incentive for other actors such as David Tennant and Dakota Fanning to sign on.
