Ronda Rousey’s recent bashing of WWE could just be your typical disgruntled wrestler talk, or maybe it’s something more. What if the former UFC star is about to pull off an insane, once-in-a-career heel turn -- and come back to challenge Becky Lynch?

There are many fans out there who believe this will be the case. Wrestlers have used interviews and social media to churn out stories and adjust their characters before. Why not Rousey?

If it handles her return right, WWE could build up the Olympic bronze medalist into a powerhouse heel -- a la Brock Lesnar. She’d be the perfect challenger to the "Super Cena" run Lynch's got going on right now. "The Man" has run through the entire women’s division since capturing the gold from Rousey last year at WrestleMania 35 and is basically out of competition. It’s unclear who her next major opponent will be after her surprise defeat of Shayna Baszler at WrestleMania 36, but Rousey would make the most sense.

The ex-UFC Champ has been posting incendiary comments on Twitter about the professional wrestling business, as well as the fans. She called WWE stars out for competing in "fake fights for fun" and said she’d be working part-time from now on because of all the "ungrateful" fans. While the comments may seem sincere, all signs are pointing to them being part of a "worked-shoot" -- which is wrestling slang for something that’s staged, but isn’t advertised as so to try to make it look "real."

Rousey could be preparing to return to WWE as its new major heel, or bad guy, following months of being away from the ring. Countless superstars have come at her on social media, most of them females looking to get payback. If Rousey’s words were sincere and she was serious about how she felt towards WWE and its fans, the other stars would most likely be leaving her alone and not engaging. The fact that so many WWE superstars are going after her on social media might be the biggest sign this whole this is just one big work to set up Rousey's eventual return.

While the two of them have history together, Lynch and Rousey have never faced off in a singles match before. The "Irish Lass Kicker" was supposed to face Rousey at Mania 35, but plans changed and Charlotte Flair was later added to the match, making it a triple threat.

If WWE wants to bring freshness to the stalled out women’s division, which has been wiped clean by Lynch, then giving her a dangerous and legit challenger like Rousey would be the best bet.
