Boasting a full cast of new and returning fighters, the latest installment of the popular fighting game franchise Mortal Kombat will be released with this April with Mortal Kombat 11. Included in the lineup is longtime character Sonya Blade, now voiced by a popular WWE wrestler Ronda Rousey.

Rousey, who previously fought in the UFC and appeared as an actor in The Expendables 3 and Furious 7, has confirmed she will be voicing the fighter after teasing a Mortal Kombat-themed announcement on her Instagram account yesterday.

"I’ve been a lifelong Mortal Kombat fan, and Sonya Blade was the first kick-ass, female video game character that I related to," explained Rousey in a written statement. "Now I get to voice her in Mortal Kombat 11. It’s a dream come true to be a part of the Mortal Kombat franchise that I grew up playing."

With the latest gameplay trailer featuring plenty of gruesome fatalities and bone-crunching action, the upcoming video game title just added some serious star power to its lineup.

Developed by Netherealm Studios, Mortal Kombat 11 will be released on April 23 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC. Those who preorder the game at select retailers will have access to an open beta on March 28 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
