Fan-favorite actor Ron Perlman has joined Warner Bros.' "Harry Potter" spinoff, "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them." According to The Hollywood Reporter, sources suggest the "Hellboy" actor will play a goblin.

Directed by David Yates from a script by J.K. Rowling, “Fantastic Beasts” is set 70 years before the events of “Harry Potter,” with Eddie Redmayne starring as preeminent magizoologist Newt Scamander, who stops in New York following his travels to find and document magical creatures. Filming is under way in London.

The news of Perlman's casting quickly follows that of Jon Voight, Gemma Chan and Carmen Ejogo. The growing ensemble also includes Katherine Waterston, Colin Farrell, Ezra Miller, Dan Fogler and Samantha Morton.

The first film in a planned trilogy, "Fantastic Beasts” is set to open Nov. 18, 2016.
