Romance anime and manga are always doing pretty well for themselves. Light novels, on the other hand, are mostly known for their many isekai series, many of which have been made into an anime. There are quite a few light novels centered around romance, though, some of which have finally gotten the anime treatment in recent years.

10 Toradora

Chances are quite high that a seasoned anime fan has, at the very least heard of Toradora, the abrasive rom-com. In the series, a fiery tsundere named Taiga and a man cursed with a mean-looking face Ryuuji begin working together to date each other best friends.

Rascal Does Not Dream Of Bunny Girl-Senpai

Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl-senpai is another light novel that got made into an anime, bringing the light novel series massive popularity. The dry speaking style of the characters is a breath of fresh air, and the supernatural elements help add interesting plotlines to the story.

The book begins by introducing Mai, who was a former star. She is now being plagued with adolescence syndrome that is slowly causing her to disappear from the world, and Sakuta must save her.

5 Spice & Wolf

Even before isekai made light novels a hot topic around the world, there was Spice and Wolf, a fun series about love, finances, and traveling around the countryside. The series features Holo The Wise Wolf and her human companion Lawrence.

After going to a small village, Lawrence encounters Holo, who offers him her knowledge in order to hitch a ride out of her village. The two begin traveling the world and falling in love while making business deals.

4 I Refuse To Be Your Enemy!

Once again, this is an isekai novel where a young girl is reincarnated into an otome game, where she wants to date the villain. Rei enters the game world, determined that the villain Claire will fall for her instead of one of the normal male options.

This is another yuri title perfect for fans of romance and isekai. Instead of focusing on trying to survive or action, this series jumps right into the part about romancing Claire.

Tomoko is an extremely average young boy that looks like the side character that you would find in most anime. To top it off, his face makes him look rather intimidating to the other students around him.

His social interactions are going pretty horribly until a young girl named Haruma asks him to be her fake boyfriend, and he accepts, opening the door to a world of popularity.
