Details regarding the still mysterious Star Wars anthology film "Rogue One" are slowly starting to emerge. Yesterday pictures of the core cast's costumes made their way online, and now there are a few rumors regarding the character Forest Whitaker will play in the film.
Making Star Wars has compiled together a list of rumors they've heard from unnamed sources regarding Whitaker's character in "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story." The site cautions that the info could end up being spoilery; considering that we know next to nothing about the movie, there's no telling what details and which characters will end up having Kylo Ren or Rey-level reveals.
According to what Making Star Wars has heard, Forest Whitaker's character will most likely be on the side of good, although he might be a "bounty hunter affiliated type." He'll also probably be a veteran of a few battles and he'll have the scars to prove it; one of his legs will be robotic and he will use a cane to walk. His outfit will apparently include a cape as well as a "hodgepodge of different things," with MSW citing the characters in Maz Kanata's castle as an example.
Directed by Gareth Edwards and starring Felicity Jones, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, Donnie Yen, Forest Whitaker, Diego Luna, Riz Ahmed and more, "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" opens on December 16.
