As the release date for "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" looms overhead, more and more information about the franchise's first anthology film is being revealed. A new trailer jam-packed with all-new footage and plenty of new information about the film's plot was just released last week, and now Disney/Lucasfilm have released a new batch of character posters that highlight the film's cast. These new posters also stand in line with another cast-centric poster that was released last week.

Earlier today, more images from the film were released via the Topps "Star Wars Card Trader" app. The new cards feature the first images of a number of the film's new aliens, as well as some new Rebel fighters and the pilgrims of Jedha. Those pilgrims might even look a bit familiar to those of you, as their look is in line with the Emperor's royal guard.

And if you can't get enough "Rogue One," then you'll definitely want to check out this six-minute-long supercut of all the film footage that has been released so far.

Set outside of the main sequel trilogy that began with “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” “Rogue One” is set just before 1977’s “Star Wars” and details the Rebel plot to steal the Death Star plans from the Empire. Directed by Gareth Edwards (“Godzilla,” “Monsters”) from a script by Gary Whitta and Chris Weitz, “Rogue One” stars Felicity Jones, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, Donnie Yen, Forest Whitaker, Diego Luna and Riz Ahmed.

“Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” opens on December 16.
