Entertainment Weekly's weeklong revelatory coverage of "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" continues with a new batch of images. These new pics from the inaugural anthology "Star Wars" film show the heroes at rest and at war, and give fans another explosive look at an Imperial Deathtrooper.

Two images show partners Chirrut Imwe (Donnie Yen) and Baze Malbus (Jiang Wen) separated, with Imwe in a contemplative pose and the heavily-armored Malbus ready for war.

Two more Rebels, Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) and Captain Cassian Andor (Diego Luna), appear in other pics. One shows Andor and Erso together, fitting considering that they're the pair at the forefront of this Rebel endeavor. The other shows Captain Andor in the midst of Rebel troopers during the film's beach battle.

Speaking of that beach battle, a new behind-the-scenes image shows off director Gareth Edwards' vision, which involves overhead helicopter shots of the melee.

And lastly, there's a new image of an Imperial Deathtrooper, a soldier no doubt sweating in that all black suit so close to a raging explosion.

This has been a big week for "Rogue One," which has revealed more photos and character names, as well as confirm that James Earl Jones will reprise his role as the voice of Darth Vader.

Set outside of the main sequel trilogy that began with “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” “Rogue One” is set just before 1977’s “Star Wars” and details the Rebel plot to steal the Death Star plans from the Empire. Directed by Gareth Edwards (“Godzilla,” “Monsters”) from a script by Gary Whitta and Chris Weitz, “Rogue One” stars Felicity Jones, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, Donnie Yen, Forest Whitaker, Diego Luna and Riz Ahmed.

“Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” opens December 16.
