Popular cosplayer Anastasia Galuzina, a.k.a. Uli-chan, recently shared a new look at her updated Rogue cosplay outfit, which is based on the fan-favorite mutant's look in X-Men: The Animated Series.

Uli-Chan debuted the new cosplay images on her Instagram page with the following caption: "Huge Rogue comeback. I put a lot of work here, upgrade my makeup and wig and finally it came out the way I like!" She also shared that the latest X-Men suit came from world-renowned designer Andromeda Latex and that her images were touched up by Dorian Photo & Art. Rogue, created by writer Chris Claremont and artist Michael Golden, first appeared in 1981's Avengers Annual #10.

X-Men: The Animated Series premiered on Fox Kids Network in October 1992. Rogue was part of the team's original lineup, appearing alongside Cyclops, Wolverine, Storm, Beast, Gambit, Jubilee, Jean Grey, Professor X and Morph. The animated series ran for five seasons and 76 episodes, concluding in September 1997. For most of the show's run, X-Men aired alongside Spider-Man: The Animated Series on Fox Kids, leading to the two shows occasionally crossing over with one another.

X-Men '97 Will Continue the Animated Series

In November 2021, Marvel Studios announced that an animated revival, titled X-Men '97, was in the works for Disney+. X-Men '97 will pick up several months after the series finale of X-Men: The Animated Series, "Graduation Day," which saw Professor X leave Earth with Lilandra for the Shi'ar Empire after being shot by Henry Gyrich. X-Men '97 showrunner Beau DeMayo previously revealed that Gyrich's attempt on Charles Xavier's life in that episode has "led to this wave of increased sympathy towards mutants and understanding." Will plot details still largely remain under wraps for the hotly-anticipated continuation, DeMayo has shared that Mister Sinister will be the primary antagonist of X-Men '97 and that Magneto will join the titular team in Professor X's absence.

When Are the X-Men Joining the MCU?

Although Marvel Studios regained the film rights to the X-Men following Disney's purchase of 20th Century Studios, the beloved team of mutants has not yet appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Instead, Marvel has been slowly introducing mutants into the MCU, beginning with the 2022 film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. In the sequel, Patrick Stewart appeared as a variant of the telepathic X-Men leader Professor X, a role he previously played in 20th Century's X-Men films.

Ms. Marvel and Namor the Sub-Mariner have since been introduced as mutants, with Deadpool and Wolverine set to join the growing list when Deadpool 3 hits theaters in 2024. As for a proper X-Men introduction, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige announced at the 2019 San Diego Comic-Con that a mutant-centric film was in the works, although very little has been revealed since about the project.

X-Men '97 will reportedly premiere on Disney+ in January 2024.
