It has been over 55 years since the franchise’s start, and Star Trek's future is looking brighter than ever, with a whole wave of new series continuing to share the legacy with new audiences while celebrating its history. Representing the vision of Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry to Star Trek’s next generation is the production company Roddenberry Entertainment, headed by CEO Rod Roddenberry and COO Trevor Roth.

Roddenberry and Roth have served as executive producers on each of the new Star Trek shows on Paramount+ -- Star Trek: Discovery, Star Trek: Lower Decks, Star Trek: Picard, and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. More than simply maintaining the core ethos Gene Roddenberry instilled in the franchise, Roddenberry is careful to ensure that Strange New Worlds encapsulates the qualities that Rod’s mother, Majel Barrett, brought to the roles of Number One and Nurse Christine Chapel. Roddenberry Entertainment’s Rod Roddenberry and Trevor Roth visited CBR’s media room at New York Comic Con 2022 for an exclusive interview. The two producers explained the core ideals and messaging of the Star Trek franchise and teased what fans can expect in 2023.

Star Trek: Lower Decks is currently releasing new episodes on Paramount+, with Star Trek: Prodigy returning with new episodes on Oct. 27 and Star Trek: Discovery Season 4 premiering in early 2023.
