“Robot Chicken” to Take on “The Walking Dead” in Adult Swim Special

After taking on DC Comics and “Star Wars” in a series of specials, “Robot Chicken” will turn its attention to “The Walking Dead.”
The episode was announced this morning by Adult Swim ahead of Turner Broadcasting’s upfront presentations next week. No date was specified for the half-hour special.

Robot Chicken: The Walking Dead Special

In keeping with the tradition of working with major franchises such as Star Wars and DC Comics universe, the Emmy Award®-winning team behind Robot Chicken joins forces with the executive producers of The Walking Dead to bring fans an all new and extra bloody half-hour special. Robot Chicken creators Seth Green and Matthew Senreich, their Stoopid Buddy Stoodios partners, John Harvatine IV and Eric Towner, and executive producers/head writers Tom Root and Doug Goldstein, will bring an animated zombie apocalypse to Adult Swim with The Walking Dead’s creator and executive producer Robert Kirkman and showrunner, executive producer and writer Scott M. Gimple.

“Robot Chicken: The Walking Dead Special” hails from Seth Green, Matthew Senreich and their Stoopid Buddy Stoodios partners John Harvatine IV and Eric Towner, as well as “The Walking Dead” creator Robert Kirkman and showrunner Scott M. Gimple.

Kirkman actually appeared in a 2012 episode of “Robot Chicken,” for a segment called “Zombie Love” (below) that spoofed the hit AMC drama.

“Robot Chicken: The Walking Dead Special” is among a slate of programming announcements that also includes the previously annouced returns of “Samurai Jack” and “FLCL.”
