In "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," Batman was more liberal with violence than some of his predecessors -- after all, the film saw him killing his enemies and branding them for death -- and now it appears his protege, Robin, followed closely in his footsteps.

As pointed out by DigitalSpy, Robin's weapon in the film was a lot more lethal than his quarterstaff from the comics. A page from "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice - Tech Manual" offers a closer look at the development and execution of Robin's weapon in the film.

"Batman v Superman's" Zack Snyder Explains the Significance of Robin's Death

As seen in the photo above, Robin is depicted as holding a halberd; that is, an axe attached to a longer staff. The other end of the weapon appears filed down into a sharp point. Though the character was long dead by the start of the film, his weapon makes it clear he was no boy scout in life.

Directed by Zack Snyder and starring Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill and Gal Gadot, "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" is now playing in theaters.
