Bernard Dowd supports Tim Drake in many ways. Bernard helps Tim recognize and accept his bisexuality, he is there for Robin through Batman Family drama (even if he does not fully understand the weird dynamics of said family), and he helps Tim feel calm in spite of a chaotic life. Likewise, Tim shows up for Bernard even when he is juggling a dozen other demands in his personal and superhero lives, proving the two are a healthy and loving couple.

Nevertheless, Tim is surrounded by other guys who could and would be equally fantastic partners. Be they fellow superheroes or just stellar people in his social circles, Tim has lots of excellent potential boyfriends in the DC Comics universe.

10 Jackson Hyde And Tim Drake Are Both Golden Children

Jackson Hyde as Aqualad in sunlight DC Comics

Like Tim Drake, Jackson Hyde grew up with a supportive (if sometimes strained) parental presence. Also like Tim, Jackson is prodigious in his abilities as a superhero, already having served as both Aqualad and Aquaman alongside Arthur Curry.

Tim did eventually lose his parents, and Bruce Wayne officially adopted him. Similarly, King Arthur acts as both a mentor and surrogate father to Jackson. Their shared backstories give the young heroes an inherent connection, and they would understand each other's anxieties surrounding their shared statuses as the "golden" children of their respective families.

9 Cullen Row Has A Thing For Tim Drake

Cullen helps his sister Harper get ready DC Comics

Superheroes with non-superhero partners are at an advantage in many regards—just look at the Flash Family—but it helps a superhero to be with someone who understands the demands of heroism. Bluebird's brother, Cullen Row, fits this bill well.

Cullen is involved in the periphery of the Bat Family already through Harper, and therefore witnesses what it takes to fight on Gotham's behalf. Even better, Cullen has long had a crush on Tim Drake and could be a grounding but understanding partner to the young detective.

8 Obsidian Is Emotive Where Robin Is Logical

Todd Rice as Obsidian, lurking in the shadows in DC Comics

Todd Rice has come out as gay before. Within the current continuity, however, he is like Tim, only just sharing his queer identity with his family. Both Tim and Todd have support networks that love and accept them, but being together would allow them to navigate the nuances of being out together.

Plus, where Obsidian is much more emotionally driven, Robin is more cerebral. While their opposite approaches to life could result in some conflict, they might also balance one another out in a way that would be quite healthy.

7 Ray Terrill And Robin Had A Rivalry Once

Young Justice including Cassie, Conner, Tim, Courtney, Ray and others

Ray Terrill and Tim Drake worked together briefly in Young Justice. In that time, they competed for the role of YJ leader, leading to a (mostly) friendly rivalry. Cassie Sandsmark beat them both, though, and they were supportive of Wonder Girl's leadership.

Reboots in DC's timelines have altered Young Justice's past membership, so who knows if they would remember their rivalry. Still, a reunion for Robin and the Ray seems to be in order. If they don't remember their shared past, they get a clean slate. If they do...well, everyone loves a rivals-to-lovers storyline.

6 Conner Kent And Tim Drake Are Already Best Friends

Tim Drake shows Conner Kent love and support DC Comics Young Justice

Conner Kent and Tim Drake are each other's best friends, even if they do not work together as regularly as they did while involved in Young Justice. Whether they share their missions, however, the two are still very close. Spoiler goes so far as to contact Conner when she is worried about Robin, trusting that Conner will be able to get through to Tim.

For this reason, fans long supported a relationship between Superboy and Tim's Robin. The Young Justice founders' relationship rivals Superman and Batman's, or Jon and Damian's (who would also make a cute couple).

5 Connor Hawke And Tim Drake Both Want To Individuate

Connor Hawke as Green Arrow in DC Comics

Connor Hawke feels the same way Tim Drake does about taking up his father's heroic persona. Though Connor has been Green Arrow in the main continuity before, whereas Tim's stint as Batman occurs in an alternate universe, neither is enthusiastic about the prospect of taking up their respective mentor's superhero identity.

Connor and Tim's shared desire to carve out their own identities as heroes suggests they would understand each other in a fundamental way. This mutual understanding would strengthen their relationship, and make the other feel seen when his parent is emotionally unavailable.

4 Bunker's Enthusiasm Has A Lifting Effect For The Teen Titans

Bunker and Red Robin meet in Teen Titans DC Comics

Bunker and Red Robin were teammates on the Teen Titans during the New 52. In fact, Miguel Barragan was more eager to restart the Titans than Tim, even though Tim was the one to seek out a cohort of metahuman teenagers.

When they first met, Miguel gave Tim a hug. This sort of enthusiasm, while occasionally grating for Tim, also succeeded in raising his spirits and illustrated why he and Miguel would make a good couple: Miguel's positivity is infectious, frequently tempering Tim's pragmatism and making him feel better. Meanwhile, Tim's more rational approach prevents Miguel from acting rashly.

3 Wallace West's Kid Flash Is A Total Sweetheart

Wallace West as the new Kid Flash in DC Comics

The current Kid Flash is newer to the superhero gig than Tim, but he shares a strong moral compass with Robin nonetheless. Wallace loves working as part of a team, proving he can see beyond himself. He is also an emotionally intelligent person, who can read others' emotional states. All of these traits would make him an excellent partner for Tim, who sometimes overextends himself in service of other people.

As if that weren't enough to make them compatible, many fans root for a Nightwing/Flash romance. A current Kid Flash/Robin relationship would echo the close relationship shared between Wally West and Dick Grayson.

2 Freddy Freeman Can Counteract Batman's Gloom And Doom

Freddy Freeman as King Shazam and Mary Bromfield as Lady Shazam in DC Comics

Hardcore Elvis fan and member of the Shazam Family, Freddy Freeman would be a great boyfriend to Tim Drake. Like Tim, Freddy comes from a sprawling adoptive family that also functions as a network of superhero vigilantes.

However, his similar background to Tim’s isn't the only thing Freddy has going for him. His upbeat personality and idealism would be helpful for Robin, who spends a lot of time with brooding heroes and therefore gets sucked into Batman's cynical worldview and abject skepticism.

1 Static Can Keep Up With The Young Detective

Virgil Hawkins and Red Robin in Teen Titans by DC Comics

Virgil Hawkins and Tim were pretty friendly when Tim was Red Robin with the Teen Titans. Tim specifically sought Virgil (who was a S.T.A.R. labs intern at the time) out to help save Bart Allen. While at S.T.A.R., Virgil even redesigned part of Tim's costume.

Virgil would go on to become a Teen Titan himself as Static, though he and Tim haven't interacted much recently. Still, the two are both skilled scientific minds with mutual respect that could definitely morph into something more. Tim even admits he trusts Virgil for his incredible intellect and his willingness to help others, even in the face of impossible odds.
