Adam McKay's serial killer comedy Average Height, Average Build adds Robert Downey Jr. and Robert Pattinson to an ensemble cast featuring other major names.

According to Deadline, Downey and Pattinson join Amy Adams, Forest Whitaker and Danielle Deadwyler in the project that has yet to be sold to a studio or streamer. Pattinson will play a serial killer who enlists a political lobbyist, played by Adams, to get her to change laws in a way that would make his crimes easier. Downey's part will be that of a retired cop still trying to catch the murderer that eluded him (Pattinson). At the moment, it is unknown which role Whitaker and Deadwyler will play.

Pattinson's serial killer is said to become a political celebrity while obscuring his true motives. McKay himself and Kevin Messick are producing the project through their Hyperobject Industries banner. The script is currently shopped around without a projected budget. Average Height, Average Build will be McKay's second collaboration with actor Adams after political satire Vice in 2018, in which she played Lynne Cheney to Christian Bale's Dick Cheney.

Don't Look Up, Succession and Other Hits

McKay's last feature film, the ensemble comedy Don't Look Up, which satirized the debate over climate change, saw a lukewarm reception from critics, although it was a hit for streamer Netflix and garnered four Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture. The acclaimed TV hit Succession, for which he directed the pilot and serves as an executive producer, fared better with critics and accolades. Its four seasons' garnered critic scores ranging between 89% and 100% on review aggregate Rotten Tomatoes, and it has taken home over 50 awards, including 13 Emmys and five Golden Globes.
