Robert Pattinson recently revealed that he went back-and-forth on the idea of playing The Dark Knight in Matt Reeves' upcoming film, The Batman.

"With Batman there was something — I was very focused on it. It kept coming back into my head," the actor told Variety about playing the Dark Knight.

He went on to mention that the role was not something he sought after. "I don’t know what it is, which happened inside of me, but I was like, I kind of want to do it,' Pattinson revealed. "I like doing something which an audience doesn’t know that it wants, and try to get it out of them: 'Oh yeah, you want to play Batman.'"

Many actors have recently joined the cast of The Batman, including Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman and Paul Dano as The Riddler. New actress Jayme Lawson was initially cast for a mystery role, though it has been reported she will play a "grassroots political candidate" in the film.

Pattinson recently starred in the Robert Eggers' film, The Lighthouse, alongside Willem Dafoe. He also appears as The Dauphin in Netflix's The King.
