Fast X star Vin Diesel has revealed who he would love to see play the villain of the upcoming eleventh and final installment in The Fast Saga.

While speaking to Variety at the Fast X trailer premiere on Feb. 9, Diesel, who plays The Fast Saga's protagonist Dominic Toretto, said that his dream casting would be Robert Downey Jr., who famously played Tony Stark/Iron Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The actor also teased fans with who Downey would be playing in Fast & Furious 11, saying, "Without telling you too much about what happens in the future, there’s a character who is the antithesis of Dom who is promoting AI and driverless cars and a philosophy that with that goes your freedom. There is somebody that believes that’s the future, and that’s at direct odds with the Toretto mentality." When asked if he had already pitched the role to Downey, Diesel played coy and refused to give a definite yes or no response.

Should Downey be unavailable, Diesel’s co-star Michelle Rodriguez has a different A-lister she would like to see show up in Fast & Furious 11. "Who’s the guy from these amazing Jason Bourne movies? Matt Damon!" Rodriguez said. "I fucking want Matt Damon. Matt Damon, would you be in a Fast and Furious movie? C’mon, we got four Oscar winners, man. And you’re an Oscar winner!" The four Oscar winners Rodriquez is referring to are Rita Moreno (West Side Story), Brie Larson (Room), Charlize Theron (Monster) and Helen Mirren (The Queen). Damon won the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay for co-writing 1997's Good Will Hunting with Ben Affleck.

A History of The Fast Saga's Villains

Before becoming a massive blockbuster action franchise, The Fast Saga had a rather simple beginning, with the original film -- 2001's The Fast and the Furious -- focusing on police officer Brian O'Conner (Paul Walker) investigating a series of truck hijackings. He goes undercover and befriends Dominic Toretto, a local street racer, to investigate the matter. While essentially the villain of the film, Diesel's Toretto slowly morphed into a hero throughout The Fast Saga, shedding his criminal identity and earning his freedom.

Through nine films, O'Conner, Toretto and their extended family have taken on Cole Hauser's Carter Verone (2 Fast 2 Furious), Brian Tee/Drift King (The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift), John Ortiz's Arturo Braga (Fast & Furious), Joaquim de Almeida's Hernan Reyes (Fast Five), Luke Evans' Owen Shaw (Fast & Furious 6), Jason Statham's Deckard Shaw and Djimon Hounsou's Mose Jakande (Furious 7) and Theron's Cipher (The Fate of the Furious and F9), with John Cena's Jakob Toretto serving as a secondary antagonist in F9.

Theron will reprise her role as criminal mastermind and cyberterrorist Cipher in Fast X, which will see the character working with the mysterious and eccentric Dante, played by Aquaman's Jason Momoa. Fast X will also see the return of Statham, Cena, Rodriguez, Mirren, Tyrese Gibson, Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, Jordana Brewster, Nathalie Emmanuel, Sung Kang, Scott Eastwood, Michael Rooker and Cardi B. New additions to The Fast Saga include Larson, Moreno, Daniela Melchior and Alan Ritchson.

Directed by Louis Leterrier, Fast X races into theaters on May 19.
