"The Flash" recurring player Robbie Amell is set to guest on an episode of Fox's "X-Files" revival, as reported Tuesday by Variety. Additionally, Lauren Ambrose, who co-starred as Claire Fisher on all five seasons of "Six Feet Under," is set to guest on the same episode.

Amell and Ambrose will play Agent Miller and Agent Einstein, respectively, with Miller described as "smart" and "smooth" and Einstein as "sharp" and "confident." Variety notes a resemblance between Amell and Ambrose and "X-Files" stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, but says their appearances will not be a flashback. Amell played Ronnie Raymond/one-half of Firestorm in multiple episodes of The CW's "The Flash" last season, and though his character is slated to return on that show, he's noticeably not in the cast of midseason spinoff "DC's Legends of Tomorrow," which stars Victor Garber as Dr. Martin Stein -- the other half of Firestorm.

The six-episode "X-Files" even series, reviving the series after a nine-season run that ended in 2002 and two movies, is scheduled to premiere Jan. 24 on Fox.
