The Munsters reboot is no longer a rumor.

Rob Zombie confirmed via his official Instagram that his next project will be the long-rumored Munster movie. "Attention Boils and Ghouls!" Zombie said in the caption. "The rumors are true! My next film project will be the one I've been chasing for 20 years! THE MUNSTERS!" He then encouraged fans to "stay tuned for exciting details as things progress."

It was rumored in March that Zombie was working on a film adaptation of the 1964 sitcom, The Munsters, and would debut simultaneously on the Peacock streaming service and in theaters. Zombie, a huge fan of the series, had reportedly cast his wife Sheri Moon Zombie as Lily Munster and his long-time collaborator Jeff Daniel Phillips as Herman Munster. No other details about the film have been confirmed by Zombie at the time of writing.

After years as a musician, Zombie is also largely known for his work as a writer and director on horror classics like House of 1000 Corpses and The Devil's Rejects, as well as his reboot of Halloween. His most recent project was 3 From Hell, starring Sheri Moon Zombie, which released in 2019.

Both seasons of the original Munsters are streaming now on Peacock.
