Earlier this month rumors surfaced that Marvel Studios was considering introducing Deadpool into the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the follow-up to Spider-Man: Far From Home.

In response to the rumors, Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld has shared a piece of his artwork featuring the two Marvel characters teaming up. He also noted that fans would "go nuts" over a potential cinematic crossover between the web-slinger and the Merc with a Mouth.

While the rumor has reportedly been debunked, a brand new rumor suggests Sony is actually planning to have Tom Hardy's Venom crossover into the MCU instead, potentially capitalizing on the surprise success of his solo film last year.

The pairing of Spider-Man and Deadpool has been popular with comic book readers for years, as the fourth-wall breaking mercenary insists on a friendship of sorts with Spidey. The duo had a fan-favorite ongoing series that ran for 50 issues before ending earlier this month.
