To celebrate the 30th anniversary of Deadpool's debut, creator Rob Liefeld announced he's creating a five-part podcast series breaking down the character's history.

Liefeld recently shared the news of his planned Deadpool series with THR. The five-episode run will begin in January as part of his ongoing podcast, Robservations with Rob Liefeld.

Liefeld will chronicle the Merc With A Mouth's history with never before heard stories from his time creating the character. "The inside tales I've been able to bring are the ones that seem to get people most excited," he told THR. "You are not going to want to miss the making of Deadpool told in five parts."

Along with the podcast miniseries, Liefeld will create a series of 30 covers as part of the celebration. He will also write and illustrate a new Deadpool story for the one-shot issue, Deadpool Nerdy 30, alongside other Marvel Comics writers and artists. He stated, "It never stops. And I've been there for all of it."

Liefeld created Deadpool with comics writer Fabian Nicieza in 1991 for The New Mutants #98. Since then, the character has become popular within and outside the Marvel Universe, leading to several comic crossovers and a successful film franchise. The creator made a cameo appearance in 2016's Deadpool. He also recently went on record confirming that there are no Marvel Cinematic Universe plans to include Deadpool in the MCU within the next five years, suggesting that Deadpool 3 will exist in its own universe for now.
